Leadership Pasadena’s Setting the Table 2019

Setting the Table is an annual event hosted by Leadership Pasadena with event proceeds benefiting the Junior League of Pasadena. This year’s theme was “The World of Conversation.” Participants were encouraged to think about what conversation means to them — be it travel, beauty, traditions, art, design, or more — and bring these treasures into their tabletop designs.

The special evening featured outstanding designs, an auction, special liqueur tastings, and appetizers.

The Peltier Home team was so honored to participate in this event and we could not wait to start planning our design.

Our inspiration came from the ultimate creativity muse — mother nature!

We used our love of greenery to create our design. After all, no space is complete without it.

As with so many of our projects, the research phase started on Pinterest. The whole team fell head over heels in love with the etched glass in this glassware from Williams Sonoma Home.

Here are a few of the ‘test’ place settings that we played around with…

With the place settings solidified, it was time to start shopping for greenery and choosing our napkins.

Before final decisions could be made, a mock-up is always required.

After practicing our place settings in the store, only the finishing touches remained.

As our tree was the centerpiece of our table design, we wanted it to be as eye-catching as possible. To make it look a bit more realistic, we glued extra twigs around the trunk.

Finally! The event was here. Packing up is almost as important as designing the table. Smooth transportation is the key to a quick setup.

Once at the event, the fun began!

There was so.much.bubble.wrap!

And finally, the finished product!

We’d like to thank Leadership Pasadena for including us in this extraordinary event. We can’t wait for next year!

“Amy spent a lot of time getting to know us, our style and comfort level. We felt that we could totally trust that she would design something that was unique to our family, and she did just that.”
