Before & After – La Canada Kitchen

Welcome back for part two in our four-part series on this La Canada home. In part one, we unveiled how we transformed this home’s master bedroom. If you haven’t given that post a read yet, you can do so right here.

In this post, we’re going to get right into the kitchen design and modification. Although this was the least complex interior design upgrade in the home, it might just be the most drastic.

As you can see in the before photos, the kitchen was devised to stand out. The vibrant colors throughout did not fall into alignment with the soft, neutral color palette the homeowners had in mind.

The color transition turned out to be the most significant design dilemma for this home. The interior had to be completely reimagined.

But, as you can see from the after photos, we were able to successfully tone down the bright, vibrant colors in favor of a monochromatic color scheme.

The cabinetry and layout of the kitchen remained the same. After all, the design of this home was perfection. But every part of the kitchen got a bit of a makeover.

Much of the original lighting was kept; with the exception of the light fixture above the sink.

The cabinets morphed from green to white, but one of my favorite upgrades was the hardware used throughout the room.
